T360G News Roundup: Sunday 21st November

Weekly Games release:
The major game releases this week were Assassins Creed: Brotherhood and Need For Speed Hot Pursuit.

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood was developed in record breaking time by the team in Ubisoft Montreal. The story sees a return trip to the story that ended Assassins Creed 2. The game takes on additional elements in that you (Ezio) are able to command an entire brotherhood to rally to your side.

And for the first time Brotherhood introduces a never-before-seen multiplayer layer that allows you to choose from a wide range of unique characters, each with their own signature weapons and assassination techniques, and match your skills against other players via XBL

Need For Speed Hot Pursuit see's a welcome return to an age old working recipe of Cops and Robbers. NFS: Hot Pursuit was developed by the team behind the critically acclaimed Burnout Series: Criterion Games. The game has received top reviews earning itself 90+ scores from the likes of IGN and even a couple of 100 scores from 1UP and Joystiq.

Other game releases which were Kinect compatible were EAs Sports Active 2 and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 (which has been released in conjunction with the movie)

Call of Duty: Black Ops out sells Modern Warfare 2

Call of Duty: Black Ops has shattered the previous 5 day sales record by quite a margin in comparison to the previous record holder. The same time last year Modern Warfare 2 (Produced by Infinity Ward) was released with great receivership of the gaming world. It was hard to tell whether or not Black Ops (produced by Treyarch) was going to do just as well. Early signs were certainly telling us the former.

The 5 days sales figures has seen Black Ops generate $650 million in revenue.

We've both certainly been entertained with hours of fun in the multiplayer. I believe we've both clocked about 20+ hours so far.

Bungie seeks Beta Testers

A recent update on the Bungie site saw a request for Beta Testers. The request advised that testing (should you be selected) would include; playtests and usability testing, Bungie
surveys on game playing habits and Alpha and Beta Testing for our next game

Certainly interesting given that news has it we won't be seeing another Halo FPS. Give us a shout if you get signed up, it would certainly be interesting to know what we can expect in the next few years from Bungie. So get over there and sign up: Bungie needs you!

Kinect to be owned by 1 in 3 Xbox 360 owners come 2014

Screen Digest analyst Piers Harding-Rolls gave the following statistics to the guys over at Eurogamer. This amounts to a whopping 25 million Kinect Units and an Xbox 360 installed base of 74 million.

Given the recent launch of Kinect, it would certainly be hard to digest these figures without a pinch of salt. But should the forecast be correct, then M$ are certainly going to be in the money considering the figures floating about the net about the cost of manufacturing a single unit.

Early sales figures suggest that MS are on target for about 5 million Kinect unit sales come year end, and should that be met, 25 million Kinect units come 2014 doesn't sound far off at all.

Pro Evo 2011 sees update on 24th November 2010

News directly from Konami will see a few tweaks to the current years Pro Evo incarnation.
They will include things such as improved defender AI, balanced Rainbow Flicks and sees shooting polished up.

Minor tweaks are also seen to thrown ins and transfer market fees in Master League as well as chants in game.

An update will certainly be well received. Although the game was given a good reception by football simulation fans, we didn't necessarily see FIFA fans making the leap of faith. But then again, I'm sure this battle will continue for years to come, and this is certainly what will urge developers to make their games even better.
